International Yoga Day

Day is observed every year on June 21 to raise awareness about this ancient practice and to celebrate the physical and spiritual prowess that yoga has brought to the world. The day was declared by the United Nations General Assembly in 2014. Yoga is a practice which plays an important role in relaxing the mind and body and boosting people’s immune system.

Today, on 21st June 2023, AIMIT celebrated 9th International Yoga Day with the theme “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” Event was attended by Director & Principal Dr. R Venkataraman, Faculty members and Students with great enthusiasm.

The event was started at 10:30AM in AIMIT auditorium with a brief introduction on Yoga Day & guest speaker by Prof. Rishikeshav and by welcoming the guest by Prof. Brunda.

Event began with the warm up exercises were taken and all the students, Faculties & staff members of AIMIT practiced & performed sitting and standing asana, Surya Namskar, Pranayama and importance of these were explained simultaneously.

All Faculties, Staff and Students were taught the importance of Yoga in their life & how to maintain the harmony between body and mind. The students discussed the importance of yoga and also exhibited yoga postures and promised to introduce this activity in their daily lives.

The event concluded with the speech by Ms Savitha Reddy. She encouraged students to practice regular yoga to remain fit and improve concentration.

The Hon’ble Director & Principal of AIMIT Dr. R Venkataraman sir addressed the participants on the importance of yoga practice in our life for better physical & mental well-being.

The function ended with a vote of thanks by Prof. Rishikeshav head of important day celebration.
