Orphanage Visit
On June 8th, 2023, the Rotaract Club of AIMIT organized a visit to an orphanage, aiming to make a positive impact on the lives of underprivileged children. A group of 40 students from Adarsh AIMIT, accompanied by Prof. Vasudha Srivatsa, Rotaract Coordinator, visited the Bless Society of Rural and Urban Development (R) in Peenya, Bengaluru.
The primary objective of the visit was to engage with the children, gain insight into their lives, and contribute to their well-being through various activities and donations. Additionally, the visit aimed to sensitize and educate MBA students about the challenges faced by underprivileged children while instilling a sense of compassion in them.
The Bless Society is committed to providing care and support for orphaned and abandoned children, including those with visual impairments. Their primary focus is on uplifting neglected, disabled girls, particularly the blind, by providing education, training, employment opportunities, and fostering self-confidence for a fulfilling life.
The children at the orphanage warmly welcomed the visiting members from AIMIT. The students greeted the children with great enthusiasm, and they had the opportunity to interact with the orphanage’s founder, Dr. Vaijinath Bandenor, as well as the caretaker. As part of their contribution, the students and faculty members generously donated a variety of groceries, including rice, flour, lentils, sugar, and oil. Also, bed sheets to support the orphanage.
The students from AIMIT engaged the children in various games, and fun activities, and also presented them with gifts. The joy and excitement on the children’s faces were truly heart-warming.
This visit proved to be an immensely gratifying experience for the students, as they were able to bring smiles to the faces of the children. It reinforced the understanding that individuals can make a meaningful contribution to society and fulfil their social responsibilities.
