Investment Awareness and Financial Fraud

The Investment Awareness Programme on the theme “Investment Awareness and Financial Fraud” was organized on 2nd July 2026 by the Knowledge Exchange Series Cell of Adarsh Institute of Management and Information Technology (AIMIT) under the banner of IQAC Initiative with the objective of equipping students with essential financial literacy and investment knowledge. The resource person for the day was Dr. A. Dhanalakshmi, a seasoned professor from ABBS. The session focused on creating awareness about various investment avenues, the importance of informed financial decision-making, and the growing prevalence of financial frauds in the digital era.

The resource person shared practical insights into different investment options, the principles of smart investing, and the need to verify the authenticity of financial schemes before investing. Participants were also educated about common types of financial frauds, including phishing, Ponzi schemes, fake investment apps, identity theft, and online payment scams. The interactive session enabled students to understand preventive measures, recognize warning signs of fraudulent activities, and develop responsible financial habits.
