NATIONAL CONSUMER RIGHTS DAY

On December 24, 2025, at 11:30 AM, the Day Celebration Club (DCC) organized a special event to commemorate National Consumer Rights Day. Under the guidance of the director and principal Dr. R. Venkataraman the event emphasized the importance of National Consumer Rights Day and highlighted about consumer rights, online shopping risks, grievance redressal mechanisms, and cyber-crime support through creative skits and PPT presentations.
National Consumer Rights Day programme conducted on 24th December 2025 marked the observance of the Consumer Protection Act, 1986, which aims to safeguard consumer interests in India. The programme focused on creating awareness about consumer rights and responsibilities, particularly among youth who actively engage in online shopping but often lack knowledge about their legal protections.
Students effectively conveyed this message through creative skit that highlighted issues such as misleading advertisements, unfair trade practices, and online fraud. The programme concluded with a PPT presentation explaining key consumer rights—right to safety, information, choice, and redressal—along with details on consumer helpline number (1915) and cyber -crime reporting, making the initiative informative and impactful.
